He won the first Ahi Fever in 1997 with his sons with a 198# ahi..He help start the Waianae Boat Fishing Club by leading us in the right direction from his days in the old Waianae Boat Club 's tournament called Bonaza, which was another major event in Waianae in the 70's and 80's..He helps keep the harbor bathroom open after hours by staying late at the harbor and closes the rest rooms when he leaves, he was also the driving force behind the Uncle Bobby's and Uncle Pauls tournament that was always held at the Waianae Harbor each year. He also made the brackets for the Webcam on the roof of the harbor and was always ready to help a boat in distress any time of day. Willie Burt, was one of a kind and he will truly be missed. Such an honorable, gentle, passive man, always ready to lend a helping hand or talk story. He deeply loved the sea and Waianae. Mahalo to the Burt Ohana for allowing Willie to be part of mine and my family’s lives for over 35 years our thoughts and prayers go out to you at this time.

Aloha Darlin’,
