What's more important than clean water? I work with the American Chemistry Council, and I know this extends beyond most folks' institutional memories as it precedes all our lifetimes-- but it used to be dangerous just to drink water in the U.S.A., just as it now still is in some 3rd world nations. In 1908 we started chlorinating our water supplies-- and waterborne disease outbreaks like typhoid became a thing of the past for us.
The importance of clean water cannot be overstated.
