The Waianae Sustainable Communities Plan (Revised 2009) Public Review Draft is ready and can be downloaded from this link:

(It is a large document, so it takes a while.)

We have just sent the document to the printer, so a hard copy will hopefully be in the mail to those of you who so requested by Friday afternoon. (please send me your address if you haven't already)

This marks the beginning of a 45-day review period. You can comment on the draft via email, phone, or at the upcoming Public Info Meeting. We are aiming to hold that mtg the last week of October, but the date has not yet been confirmed.

We will also be giving a brief presentation of the major changes to the WSCP to the Nanakuli Neighborhood Board in October. (Waianae NB not until December due to scheduling conflicts and their board's November recess).

Thank you to all of you who sent in comments on the Preliminary Draft, and to those who participated in the last PAC meeting in September. We tried our best to incorporate your input throughout the Plan. (the notes from that last mtg have been revised and attached here for your reference)

One issue that has not yet been decided upon is the proposed change to the Land Use Map in the Appendix. The basic issue is whether or not to include a new "Industrial" area in Lualualei. This Public Review Draft includes 2 versions of that map: Land Use Map A is the same as the original. Land Use Map B includes an additional "Industrial" area in Lualualei. We hope to discuss this with all of you at the meeting at the end of the month, and come to a consensus on which map to include in the Final WSCP.
