Wai`anae Farmers Market's Grand Re-Opening at Wai`anae High a Big Success - Check Out the Photo Album!

Wai`anae High's Natural Resources academy was a very popular booth. They sold out of their homegrown ogo within the first few hours, and had to re-stock. The students also sold vegetables they grew and homemade fruit breads, and passed out delicious ogo recipes. [Click on the photo to enlarge].
Children loved the Petting Zoo that Naked Cow Dairy sponsored. The zoo featured a baby goat, chickens, ducks, guinea pigs, rabbits, mice and a miniature turtle. [Click on the photo to enlarge].

The Wai`anae Farmers Market's grand re-opening at Wai`anae High School on 5/1/10 was a huge success! A large crowd of people showed up to enjoy old and new vendors, listen to the entertainment, see the petting zoo, and win the give-aways.

"The Wai`anae Farmer's Market is something many in this community have been wishing for. I am so pleased to see that it has survived rough patches and found new energy at the Wai`anae High location. The market provides a much needed venue for residents to showcase their talents for growing and cooking food, as well as create beautiful crafts, works of art, and other products. The market is responding directly to our economic crisis by creating jobs and encouraging people to spend money in Wai`anae," said Rep. Shimabukuro.

The WFM will continue to be every Saturday at Wai`anae High School from 8-11:30am. Don't miss it!
