FUNDING FOR PRE-APPRENTICESHIP CONSTRUCTION TRAINING OFFERED TO LEEWARD RESIDENTS

HONOLULU- The Hawaii Building Industry Foundation (HBIF) and the Construction Training Center of the Pacific (CTC) are accepting applications for Project ComPACT through July 8, 2008 for Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Training. The project is made possible by a grant from the City and County of Honolulu Leeward Coast Community Benefits Program.

Adults who reside in the Leeward Coast communities of Makakilo, Kalaeloa, Kapolei, Honokai Hale, Nanakai Gardens, Ko Olina, Nanakuli, Ma'ili, Waianae, Makaha and Kaeau are eligible to apply. Project ComPACT exposes individuals to over 150 vocations in the construction industry. Upon completion, they are able to enter the industry and succeed in the trade apprenticeship programs or entry level positions.
