UH Law School Fundraiser on 9/24

Aloha nui loa!

On behalf of the William S. Richardson School of Law, we invite you to share your cause, at A SONG FOR OURSELVES, a benefit for the Chris Iijima Endowment, on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2009.

Honoring the legacy of APA artist, community activist and UH law professor, the late Chris Iijima, this event seeks to provide opportunities to engage with community activism in its many forms - protest, writing, visual art, education, environmental awareness, music, advocacy, teaching, and much more.

The day-long event includes:

1. Symposium & Panel | Creative Modern Activism | 4PM | FREE @ UH School of Law

2. Film Screening | A Song for Ourselves - Honolulu Premiere | 7PM

3. Live Performance | Bambu & DJ Phatrick of Native Guns, Power Struggle + Special Guests | 9PM

4. Film Screening & Live Performance @ NextDoor | 43 N Hotel Street | Chinatown | Honolulu Tickets | $10 students/the people | $30 lawyers/alum | $100 VIP

We would like to invite those of you working on social justice issues to send a represtantive, press kit, or materials to table at our Symposium. The goal is to provide a space for community activists such as yourself to recruit interested students and organizers for your cause. If you would be able to participate in the event, please RSVP to myself or to with details on setting up representation for your cause.
