Subject: Back Packs for Children Who May Not Be Able to Afford One

Hi Senators and Representatives:

The National Foundation of Women Legislators and Office Depot partnered again this year to provide back packs for elementary age children who may not be able to afford back packs and school supplies as they go back to school. I was able to get 300 back packs and would like to offer to you the opportunity to identify schools or non-profit organizations that may know of children who may benefit from this effort.
I would like representatives from the schools and organizations representing these children to contact me via e-mail senchunoakland@capitol.hawaii.gov by August 22, 2008. The back packs will be disbursed on Monday, August 25, 2008 at 4:30 p.m. at the State Capitol. The place will be determined some time tomorrow. It will be on a first come, first serve basis.
